How we order apps
Popularity reflects interest in this catalogue, not a review or a safety rating. We count installer transfer starts and visits to official download websites or web apps equally. We cannot confirm downloads completed on another website.
The last 30 days inform the order, with recent activity carrying more weight. Repeat actions count once per app and UTC day, using a protected network fingerprint where available, or an anonymous browser identifier. Shared networks may be undercounted. Known bots, privacy opt-outs and unusually broad activity are excluded.
Discovery gives some earlier positions to new and less-seen apps. Popularity keeps the strict interest order; A–Z lets you browse by name. Lists update hourly, show the same order to everyone, and retain an editorial fallback when data is unavailable. No paid placement is included.

Before you click.
Freeware, open source, free tiers.
Let’s make sense of the differences.
What is freeware?
Freeware is software offered without an upfront charge. Its publisher still controls the licence, so permitted use, redistribution and support can vary. See What Is Freeware? for the distinctions.
Is freeware safe?
Price and licence do not establish safety. Prefer the publisher's documented download location, confirm the domain and publisher, and review any installer screens. Keep your operating system and security software current.
How is freeware different from open source?
Freeware is about price; open source is about the license of the code. Open source programs are always freeware, but freeware can be closed source. Open source adds a practical benefit: independent builds and audits keep the program honest.
Do freeware programs expire?
Not necessarily. Some products are distributed free of charge without an expiry date; others offer a limited free tier or a time-limited evaluation. Read the publisher's current terms rather than relying on the word "free".
How do I avoid bundled installers?
Download from the official site, choose "Custom/Advanced" install when offered, and uncheck any additional offers. All links in this catalog lead to official download pages to make that easy.
